Performance Plumbing
Our specialty is water heaters!
A nice hot shower in the morning or a hot soaking bath can be the best feeling in the world but a cold shower is
the WORST. At Performance Plumbing we specialize in water heaters so we can have you in a hot bubble bath in
no time.
If you live in a house long enough, at some point, you’ll have to replace your water heater. Generally, water
heating accounts for about 18-20% of a home’s utilities costs. There are several decisions that need to be made
when purchasing a new water heater and our technicians can help you decide. At Performance Plumbing, our
technicians are licensed professionals. They can diagnose your problem and most water heaters can be repaired
or replaced in one day. It is generally less expensive to buy an electric water heater than a gas water heater but
less expensive to operate a gas water heater.
We offer both traditional and tankless water heaters, both which can be purchased for gas or electric operation.
Tankless water heaters are generally more efficient but cost more initially to purchase.

A traditional water heater, otherwise known as a tank
storage water heater, stores the water at a constant
temperature and replaces water in the tank as it is used.
Advantages of a traditional (tank) water heater:
•
Less expensive to purchase
•
Their simpler style of operation generally make them
easier to repair
•
Maintains a constant temperature
Disadvantages of a traditional (tank) water heater:
•
Less efficient, so generally utility costs are higher
•
Needs more space to install
•
Needs longer recovery time (time for the water to heat
up after tank is depleted)
•
Tank can leak or burst, flooding your house or building

A tankless water heater, also known as “on-demand” water
heater, does not have a storage tank. Therefore, you don’t
have to wait for the water to heat up.
Advantages of a tankless (on-demand) water heater:
•
More efficient, saving money over time
•
Can be installed in smaller spaces since it is mounted on
the wall
•
On-demand- endless supply of hot water and needs no
time for water to heat up
•
Have a longer life span
•
No tank to leak, so no flooding
Disadvantages of a tankless water heater:
•
More expensive to purchase
•
Generally, more expensive to repair
