Our specialty is water heaters! A tankless water heater does not have a storage tank. It heats water directly. When you turn on your hot water faucet, cold water will travel through a pipe into the unit. Either a gas burner or an electric element heats the water as it passes through a heat exchanger. Tankless water heaters deliver an “on- demand” and constant supply of hot water. When the hot water faucet is shut off, the cold water will stop traveling into the tankless water heater until the next time it is needed, thereby eliminating the wait time for a tank water heater to fill up water and be heated. However, the output of a tankless water heater is limited by the flow rate. Generally, they will provide hot water at a rate of 2-5 gallons per minute. This can cause a problem if there are several high water demands at the same time, ie. showers, dishwasher, or clothes washer. One solution for this is to install a separate tankless water heater for each high demand application. At Performance Plumbing, we specialize in tankless water heater repair, so our technicians can help answer your questions: Tank or tankless, gas or electric?

Tankless Water Heater Repair For Gas and Electric Systems

Gas Water Heater Repair

With gas water heater repair, sometimes the configuration of your house or building will determine if you need a gas or electric water heater, but here are some points to consider: Advantages of  Gas Water Heater: Will still work if there is a power outage Less expensive to operate Produces higher flow rate Sometimes cannot supply enough hot water for multiple hot water uses at the same time

Electric Water Heater Repair

With electric water heater repair, sometimes the availability of natural gas or electrical power will determine if you need a gas or electric water heater, but here are some points to consider: Advantages of  Electric Water Heater: Generally less expensive to purchase Less expensive to install due to gas line venting requirements More efficient No greenhouse gas emissions Can be installed almost anywhere
